You Changed Everything When You Came Into My Life
“You changed everything when you were born.” Some say it directly, others more poetically, but every mother emphasizes the same thing about motherhood: it is the turning point in a woman’s life. And it is not strange considering how one’s habits completely change and one begins to experience feelings one did not know existed.
You changed everything when you came, everything that was gray and dull in my life was lit up by the shimmer in your eyes the first time you looked up at me. You broke the silence with your uncontrollable, contagious giggles. You gave warmth to each day and filled each morning with the scent of life.
And there they are; they come into our lives when we least expect it, but also when we need it most… when you need to share your life.
Feeling love is obviously one of the most amazing gifts a person can experience. And there is a certain mixture of instinct – a feeling that comes from soul, mind and heart – when you feel your baby’s delicate skin; the little creature that you want to protect and just give your best.
A woman’s love is truly powerful, but it becomes sublime when it comes from the admiration and worship of the child she had in her womb during pregnancy.
When she feels the movements of her unborn baby in her womb, every mother understands what unconditional love is. And this is not surprising, because there is no greater love than a mother feels for her child.
When she sees her child for the first time is the moment when a woman really understands what love at first sight is, and understands the depth of the miracle of life.
And even if the child grows so much that the mother can no longer carry him in her arms, she will always have her heart placed for him – the same heart that leaves her body to accompany the children wherever they go.
When a child is born, life changes so much that the parents are willing to change their habits and behaviors for the sake of the child’s success. They often end up with things to give this little miracle the highest priority – a creature that is capable of monopolizing every breath in the home.
All a mother needs to do is see her children, or just think about them, for the heart to be filled with happiness and joy. And what could be more important? A mother’s time flies by so fast, in just a moment. But the love her little baby perceives will make it one of the happiest creatures in the world.
You will be your child’s role model, his first superheroine, coach and mentor. And the most valuable thing about the learning process that involves you is that despite failures and successes, you will always be the engine behind the finished product.
No one tells women how to be good mothers, and babies do not come with instruction manuals that say how to act in specific situations. Mothers act on instinct and their hearts guide them to do what is best for their children.
And it does not matter if the secret behind raising children is to put everything else on fire to dedicate your whole life to the little creature that is a part of you. Words will never be able to express the satisfaction of teaching your child to take their first steps, say their first words and so many other things.
The freedom and independence we had before does not matter, nor does the time we spent building a career. We gladly sacrifice all that. The University of Life teaches us that there is no better title than Mother, where we learn the true meaning of the word devotion. All in exchange for a smile when we wake up.
Being a mother is a blessing sealed in the tenderness and innocence of the most fragile beings we have ever seen; a being who at the same time has the power to motivate so many mothers to continue, wake up every morning and confront the most difficult moments with grace.
